Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
IsolatedStudy supports honest academic work. When you use it, please follow these rules.
Do
- Upload documents you wrote or are allowed to check (for example as a teacher for your students' work).
- Read the whole report before drawing conclusions – check the sources and whether text is quoted and cited.
- Treat every score as an indicator for a conversation, not as an accusation.
Do not
- Upload documents of other people without permission, or content that is illegal, hateful or harmful.
- Use the service to rewrite or disguise copied text so that it is not detected.
- Try to break, overload or get around the service – its daily limits, access rules or security – or collect data from it automatically (other than through the official API with your key).
- Share your account or API key, or use someone else's.
- Present a report as proof that someone cheated without a person reviewing the work.
Teachers and institutions
- Tell students that their work is checked and whether it is stored in the repository.
- Give students the chance to explain matches before any decision.
If the rules are broken
We may limit or close the account. Report misuse through the Support page or isolatedinfo@isolatedstudy.com.
